Having joined the HSE/CSR department of DIMOTRANS Group on February 1st, 2024, Céline Chatelain has recently become a member of the Executive Committee with the mission of accelerating the implementation of a CSR approach aligned with an integrated management system. She also coordinates all actions with the HSE referents of the Group’s subsidiaries and Business Units. To achieve this, she leads a team of five people.

A Career Rooted in QHSE

From her early years of study, Céline Chatelain discovered the demands of quality through the lens of the laboratory as part of a BTS in laboratory technology in 2002. She then continued her studies with a degree in biochemistry followed by a Master’s in QHSE management at the University of Paris XIII, obtained in 2008.

A Shift Towards CSR

Céline began her career at Geodis through an internship in 2007, where she would spend her entire career before recently joining Dimotrans Group. Recruited in 2008 within the overseas BU for a six-month mission in Morocco to implement an integrated management system, she returned to France as HSE Manager for freight forwarding. In 2013, she was appointed QHSE Coordinator for Europe, this time focusing on logistics. In 2018, she became Business Excellence Director (QHSE, CSR) for a perimeter of fourteen countries covering several activities: overseas, BtoB contract logistics, and industrial projects.

In 2023, her role evolved further and she held the position of CSR Director for the France/Maghreb region for all of Geodis’ activities (excluding road activities), covering a perimeter of 14,000 people. During this period, in parallel with her CSR missions, Céline also worked on the CEIV (IATA pharma) certification and participated in the Green Pharma initiative.

“Beyond acquiring new skills, I have also learned about transversality. Indeed, to carry out my missions, good coordination between the different QHSE teams in the countries, the operational management of the businesses, and the support departments (purchasing, compliance, HR…) has been essential to determine the right orientations and work on the risks. I also quickly understood the importance of always keeping in mind the priority of having a very operational system. A support function must be both at the service of the company’s strategy and at the service of the field,” emphasizes Céline Chatelain, HSE/CSR Director, who adds about her arrival at DIMOTRANS Group: “Having been looking for a new challenge for several months, I was seduced by the fact that DIMOTRANS Group is a structure that is growing, at a turning point in its organization. All the supply chain professions are represented there. The size of the group means that we maintain a strong proximity both with customers and with employees.”

“The development of our SME required systemic thinking and action in terms of HSE/CSR. With the arrival of Céline Chatelain, who is very much in line with the group’s values, this has been achieved. She has all my confidence and has a great deal of autonomy in her approach, with decisions made jointly and aligned with the company’s strategy and culture.” says Laurent Parat, Managing Director of DIMOTRANS Group.
